OJ Mayo, Tyreke Evans and 2 Others Cut From 2010 Team USA World Championship Team

As expected Memphis Grizzlies guard OJ Mayo and former Memphis Tiger guard Tyreke Evans along with 2 others were released from Team USA workouts today as they prepare to compete in the 2010 World Championships in Turkey. The cut frees up some space at the guard and forward position but leaves Team USA with only 2 centers remaining on the roster. A few players with ties to Memphis remaining with Team USA, which will resume practice and exhibition games August 9 in New York City (Madison Square Garden), is Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay and former Memphis Tiger point guard Derrick Rose.

The rest of the remaining 15 players which must be trimmed down to 12 for the official World Championship roster can be found here (Click “Read More” Below For Complete Listing)
