Darelle Revis Saga Ending Today?

According to Dallas Morning News writer Tim Cowlishaw’s Twitter account, the Darelle Revis Saga should come to a surprise ending today August 25, 2010 or Saturday August 28, 2010.

Cowlishaw tweeted Sunday “Revis and Jets announce new deal, probably Wednesday. You heard it here first. “Inside Information!”

Are you scratching your head too? Which part of that sounds funny to you? Darelle Revis coming to terms with the Jets to end his Pre-Season holdout, the 4 day lapse between potential signing dates, or the fact that a Dallas, Texas based reporter would have access to this information before extremely territorial New York City writers?

All of it brings questions to the table but if this happens today Tim Cowlishaw should go to the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame immediately (yes it does exist), as writers all over the nation have tried to guesstimate when they thought Revis would, if ever, end his holdout and join the team in training camp. The last time specific information was released in regards to the negotiations between Revis and Jets management it was said that the two sides were almost $40 Million Dollars apart in regards to what Revis wanted and what the team had to offer.

Many writers speculate that though Cowlishaw’s prediction seems ridiculous, if both sides are anywhere near close to an agreement, today would be a seemingly perfect time to announce it, as the 3rd episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks airs tonight which features the New York Jets.
