Memphis Men’s Basketball To Be Featured On ESPNU’s Midnight Madness Special

When the University of Memphis Tigers Men’s Basketball team opens up practice for the 2010 – 2011 season fans in Memphis won’t be the only ones watching, as Memphis and 5 other schools have been chosen to be apart of ESPN’s Midnight Madness Special airing on ESPN U. This will be Memphis’ third time being featured on the special in the last six seasons, with the last time being the debut of Derrick Rose in 2007. Other teams to be featured on the special will be the reigning Mens National Champions Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, Kansas State, Gonzaga, and the reigning Womens National Basketball Champions Connecticut Huskies.

This year the Tigers will be debuting another All Star recruiting class including the Class of 2010’s #1 ranked player Will Barton, who’s eligibility was in question over the summer prior to being cleared by the NCAA.

Along with ESPN being in the building on October 15 to see the Tigers kick off 2010, Melrose High School star recruit Adonis Thomas, ranked #8 in the nation according to Scout.com, will be making his official visit to the see the home team before deciding where he will take his talents next season.

At this time no details have been released on the October 15 event but as soon as they are available you can find them here.
