Andy Roddick Out At The US Open . . . . . . . . . . Is He The Most Over Rated Athlete?

Andy Roddick lived up to expectations in the 2nd Round of the 2010 US Open bowing out early to a lower seeded Janko Tipsarevic in 4 sets. Roddick the 9th ranked tennis player in the world has been on the losing end of things since winning the 2003 US Open over Juan Carlos Ferrero. Since winning his only Grand Slam Championship Roddick has been to only 4 Grand Slam Finals, eventually losing all of them to the current 2nd ranked tennis player in the world Roger Federer. If you do the math that means Roddick has been to only one-ninth (1/9) of the possible 28 Grand Slam Finals since winning in 03′, which in my opinon is pretty pitiful. As I watched the highlights of yesterdays match I began to think . . . . . . . . Is Andy Roddick The Most Over Rated Athlete That We Currently Have In Sports? I played around with the question in my head for a few but was unable to come up with a definative answer, so I decided to compile a list of other athletes that might compare and see where they ranked with our listeners.

Bigger Diva: Brett Favre or LeBron James

Both players have hi-jacked our summers while they made up their minds on whether or not to “stay or go”.  LeBron deciding what major US city he was going to take his talents to and Favre deciding on whether or he would be able to play and last throughout an entire NFL season. Now that both decisions have been made and the players are where they will be for the upcoming NFL and NBA regular season, its our turn to make a decision on “Which Player Is The Biggest Diva . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Brett Favre or LeBron James”.

My vote is for LeBron. Just seems like day after day, week after week the guy gives us something new to talk about. Whether its something said on his twitter page, a television interview, or print interviews he has provided us with more then his share or quotes and debatable thoughts this summer. What do you think?

King James Gets On The Offensive

Apparently King James is a little ticked off by some of the shots, jokes, commentary, etc. being made about him since he “decided to take his talents to South Beach”. Via Twitter he sent off a warning, letting everyone “and he means everyone” know though he has kept a pretty tight lid on his feelings since “The Decision 2010” he has been taking mental notes of those who have decided to criticize or question him. So what has made the Miami Heat forward break his silence? Who knows, but the tweet came three days after Forward Anthony Tolliver announced via a spoof YouTube video that he has decided to sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the same day ESPN alerted the world to the video during a segment featured on “First Take“.

Don’t you have a sense of humor Bron Bron? What are you gonna do to those who have a personal opinion about you or what you have done this summer? Are you so arrogant that you feel your above criticism? Is the criticism gonna fuel you to finally achieve something substantial on the basketball court other then personal MVP awards?

Guess we will all have to wait until the 2010 – 2011 NBA Season kicks off October 26, which just so happens to feature a match up between King James and the Miami Heat against the reigning Eastern Conference Champions Boston Celtics.

Check out some of the spoofs of “Decision 2010” below from Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Tolliver and comedian Steve Carell
